Women rights through history

The youth exchange has gathered around 45 participants from Croatia, Portugal,
Finland, Romania, Turkey, Italy, Hungary and Serbia from 26 July – 4 August
2023, travel days included. In this project young people have explored the origins
and historical development of women’s rights. The activities took place in
various locations in Orahovica.
Every partner sent a team of 5-7 participants (18-25) plus a youth leader
(18+). In total, every national team will have 5-7 members.

It is widely assumed and all the indexes of gender equality show that Europe and other Western nations (USA, Australia, Canada and New Zealand) have achieved the greatest equality between men and women. In this youth exchange we will explore reasons as to why is Europe ahead of other parts of the world and what are the key events that transformed the position and role of women in our societies.

Goals:
1. Explore lives of women in different areas of life
2. Explain the progress made in achieving gender equality
3. Better understanding the difference in women’s rights between Europe
and the rest of the World.
