Overview:
The youth exchange Political Literacy 101 gathered 33 participants from
Croatia, Serbia, Hungary, Italy and Bulgaria from 17 May (arrival day) to 25
May (departure day) 2026 in Fužine, Croatia. This youth exchange aims to
empower young people to transition from passive consumers of information into active, critically engaged citizens by connecting abstract political concepts to their everyday lives.

Main focus:
1.
Foundational Literacy and Ideological Clarity
demystify the language of power; explore democracy foundations and core values of major political ideologies so youth can identify their own political identity based on values, not tribalism.
2.
Critical Defence Against Modern Threats
build democratic resilience; equip participants with tools to identify populism, democratic backsliding and misinformation; foster evidence based dialogue on migration and free speech.
3.
From Understanding to Agency
solve the participation paradox; empower participants to see themselves as stakeholders who can vote, advocate, and build consensus; transform asking “why is this happening?” into knowing “how can I change this?”
