It was held in Karlobag in September 2018. The goals of the project included helping LGBTI youth of faith to make peace between their faith and sexuality\/gender identity.<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/h2>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"Body\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.0.6&#8243;][et_pb_column _builder_version=&#8221;4.0.6&#8243; type=&#8221;4_4&#8243;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.0.6&#8243; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;||17px|||&#8221; inline_fonts=&#8221;Gurajada&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Gurajada; font-weight: normal; font-size: large;\">In the project the participants tackled the issue religion plays in lives of<\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: large; font-family: Gurajada; font-weight: normal;\">sexual and gender minorities (LGBTI). The religion influences the lives of LGBTI youth in the following ways:<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: large; font-family: Gurajada; font-weight: normal;\">\u00a0many LGBTI people are religious and are conflicted between their sexuality and their religion<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: large; font-family: Gurajada; font-weight: normal;\">\u00a0even when LGBTI people are not religious many of their friends and family are, which makes coming out far more difficult<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: large; font-family: Gurajada; font-weight: normal;\">\u00a0religion is often used as a pretext for the opposition in fighting against rights for LGBTI people, which can create resentment among LGBTI people against religion. <\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Gurajada; font-weight: normal; font-size: large;\">Due to <o:p><\/o:p>that, it is not uncommon for LGBTI people to develop stereotypes and prejudices against religions and religious people.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Gurajada; font-weight: normal; font-size: large;\">The mission of the project was to provide LGBTI youth with competencies to make peace between their sexuality and their faith, which will significantly contribute to their <o:p><\/o:p>psychological well-being. Also, this project has enable young people to better interact with their religious family and friends by using &#8220;religious&#8221; language and stories to portrait<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Gurajada; font-weight: normal; font-size: large;\">their sexuality and gender identity in a more positive light than most religions do.
